The word zemi refers to a supernatural being or a vital force in Taíno culture. The Taíno were the indigenous people of the Antilles archipelago before European contact. The name that this new resort has chosen seems a fitting tribute to the ethos they hope to embody as guests make their way to the shores of this island’s newest incarnation.
Nestled on the secluded, pristine shores of Playa Esmeralda, Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton will be the brand’s first all-inclusive resort in Dominican Republic. Set to open in June 30, 2025 this brand-new, 500-room resort will offer an exclusive escape surrounded by pristine beaches, towering mountains, and lush natural landscapes. With Zemi Miches, Hilton surpasses the 10th hotel milestone in the all-inclusive segment in the Caribbean and Latin America, and marks a significant step in the brand’s expansion plans.
Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort will be located around 60 miles from Punta Cana International Airport and is set on a half-mile stretch of Esmeralda Beach, located north of Punta Cana in the coastal town of Miches. The resort will feature a mix of modern accommodations, including 123 swim-up rooms with private plunge pools, 18 standalone beach bungalows and an additional 379 rooms spread across six four-story buildings. The swim-up rooms will offer guests a unique experience, with a winding pool that allows them to float seamlessly between different areas of the resort.

With Curio Collection by Hilton known for offering distinct, immersive experiences in sought-after destinations, Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort promises to deliver just that. According to Jenna Hackett, brand leader for Curio Collection by Hilton, “The resort will showcase Miches’ eco-friendly, unspoiled landscapes, providing a truly unique all-inclusive experience. The resort will be designed with minimalist aesthetics that complement its natural surroundings, using neutral woods, stonework, and boho-chic decor to create a sophisticated, yet relaxed atmosphere.”
The resort will also boast an impressive selection of amenities including six restaurants and six bars, ranging from Asian, Taino and Italian cuisine to fresh seafood and a food hall market. There will be plenty of entertainment, including a theater, a kids’ and teens club and a retail shop. For those looking to unwind, the resort will feature an expansive pool complex with a water park, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a juice bar. The spa will offer a wide range of treatments in its 10 treatment rooms, along with a beauty salon, indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and an outdoor terrace perfect for yoga and meditation.

In addition to its leisure offerings, Zemi Miches will cater to business travelers with 15,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event space, both indoors and outdoors. This new resort marks an exciting milestone for Hilton and the Dominican Republic, offering travelers a sophisticated, eco-conscious destination to relax, explore and indulge in the best of Caribbean hospitality.
